Mona Lisa Smile

August 8th, 2006

I watched Mona Lisa Smile on DVD last night. The movie was great. Indeed, it healed my hurt feeling after what I went through.

Well, somebody in the house said something rude to me. Maybe I was over exaggerating, or it was just me being sensitive. I don’t know.

But I suddenly felt “could it be the sign that she actually hates me all this time?” :(

I didn’t want to make it a big deal, like telling my husband about it. So I just cried a little bit while nursing my boy last night. Yes, he’s almost 16 months old and he still nurses. I’m happy about it.

And while nursing, I told him that I was sad at that time. He was just quiet.. hmm I guess he already fell asleep. That’s OK, my dear son… Just go to sleep. I just wanted to share this feeling to somebody. Sweet dream, baby…

Then I remembered that I had this movie which I hadn’t had the chance to watch. So, I turned the player on and enjoyed it til’ 11.

Julia Roberts has always been fascinating. She’s beautiful, charming, and she was really excellent in the movie. I remembered watching Erin Brockovich. She played dazzlingly too.

Kirsten Dunst and the other actresses were also appealing. Hmm… thanks to you, ladies… You cheered up my blue evening, though all of you made me cry at the end of the movie :) . Love it!

    The Arrow of Time

    August 1st, 2006

A friend of mine sent me A.Very.Interesting.Link yesterday.

It’s about a family who has a unique ritual of taking their photograph every year, exactly on June 17.

They’ve been doing it for 30 years now. Amazing!

Here’s the intro. Enjoy it! Umm, maybe you’d like to start it now? ;)

“Thirty years ago, before we could even imagine all the things that were going to happen, Susy’s mother asked me to shoot a portrait of both Susy and Diego to put in her bedroom. A year later, on the same day, we decided to do it again, that is how the Arrow of Time got started.”

    He Loves Trucks!

    July 28th, 2006

Sometimes I can’t believe that my son is now 15 months old. He’s now abls to say “mama”, “dada”, “caca”, “ada”, “gaga”,”tata”, and few words that end in “e”..

Now I want to tell something about his favorite toy.

My hubby had an idea to buy him a toy truck. I didn’t agree with the idea at first cause it was too expensive. But he insisted, so we bought it and it has become my little boy’s favorite toy.

Now, if we travel by car, he’s always aware of trucks, no matter if they’re big or small. When he hears the trucks’ “roar”, he’ll point at somewhere. We, me and hubby, don’t notice what he means by the pointing, ’til we see a truck passing by. And our son, he’ll say “oooooo….” so happily.

    July 18th, 2006

It’s been quite a long I haven’t written anything here. Kinda busy with anything.

Sorry for everyone, if you’re disappointed to see there’s nothing new here.

Hmm, today I want to share my joy wih all of you. My little boy is now able to drink from sippy cup by himself. *Hurraaayyy*

Indeed, I already taught him to drink from a glass months ago, with my assistance of course.

But lately, when I hold his sippy cup when he’s drinking, he always wants to grab it!

So, there he is, holding the cup by himself and enjoying the drink ’til he’s fulfilled..

I’m so glad to know he’s getting smarter. I love you, love you, love you….

“MORE” - my boy’s first sign

    July 10th, 2006

When I was pregnant and then my baby boy was born, I had never thought of having communication with him by signing.

But, someday, I met my friend who has a 15-month-old girl (at that time). Bella, the cute little girl, looked at me smiling while I was singing something.

I forgot the song. When I finished, she suddenly moved her fingers of her hands so that they touch each other.

I asked her mother what Bella was doing. She said Bella wanted “more”. Ohhh!! Really?? That was surprise for me, honestly.

All this time, I’ve never thought that sign language can be so interesting and I think it can help babies to communicate with their parents.

Days after, I tried to teach my little boy that “more” sign. He didn’t seem to be able to do it. He just stared at me.

But something incredible happened two days later, when I gave him water, he screamed as if he wanted more. And I asked him, “How do you say ‘more’?”

He looked at me, quiet, and then… he showed me the sign! He DID it!! Yes, he did it!! I couldn’t believe it. I was so happy… Can’t believe that he could express what’s on his mind.

Something funny happen though. Lately, he hasn’t made the correct sign of “more”. Instead of tapping both hands together a few times, he touch his right index finger to his left palm :D … But still, it’s amazing!

    I love you, son…

The First Time He Went to the Beach

    June 27th, 2006

Last Saturday, my little boy, me, and hubby spent the morning at the beach.

The weather was so good. The breeze even made me a bit sleepy :) .

But I remembered that it was the first time I took my son to the beach. I was so excited, couldn’t wait to see his reaction. I did take him to swimming pools for several times and we swam together. He enjoyed it.

But this time would be different. And I was right.

When I put him down from the carrier, he looked so happy when he stood on the sand. He giggled. Maybe he was saying, “What is this? So soft.. I like it here.”

Then I took his hand and brought him to the water. He was overjoyed and didn’t want to stop. When I screamed there were waves coming, he screamed too. With excitement!

Next, when the waves drew closer, I screamed, “Look at the waves!” and pulled him up. He enjoyed it too. We did that over and over.

Once, he found a small stone in the water. I told him to pick it up and throw it away. He did. And he did it again and again, enjoying the splash :) .

I think I should take him to the beach more often. Maybe I’ll ask some of my friends to join us. I’m sure it’s going to be fantastic.
